Terms of Use

By accessing or using The Rust Guide (the "Site"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

The Site is run by an individual based in Australia ("we", "us", "our" or "the operator"). You can reach us at contact.therustguide@gmail.com.

The Rust Guide is a free, informational fan site for the game Rust. It offers gun and armour comparisons, item, vehicle, loot, farming, raiding and skin information, calculators and video guides. The Site does not require accounts and does not sell anything or offer paid features.

We may change, add or remove features, or suspend or stop running the Site, at any time and without notice.

The Rust Guide is an independent fan project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Facepunch Studios Ltd or the game Rust. Rust is a trademark of Facepunch Studios Ltd.

The Site is also not affiliated with Valve Corporation. Steam and the Steam logo are trademarks of Valve Corporation. YouTube is a trademark of Google LLC. Other names and marks belong to their owners.

Rust names, logos, icons, artwork, and game data belong to Facepunch Studios Ltd and their respective owners. Workshop skins and their images belong to Facepunch and the skins' creators. We use such materials only to identify and discuss the game.

The Site's original presentation, UI, comparison tooling, and written content (excluding third-party and Facepunch materials) belong to the operator of The Rust Guide. You may not copy or redistribute substantial portions of the Site without permission, except for brief excerpts with attribution and a link back to the Site.

If you own something shown on the Site and think we use it in a way we shouldn't, email contact.therustguide@gmail.com with what it is, the page it is on and why. We will look at it promptly and remove or change it where that is right.

Combat calculations (including STK, DPS, and TTK), raid costs, loot chances, farming results, item stats, guides, and other information on the Site may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect after game patches or data updates. Content is not official game data and is provided for informational purposes only. You use the Site and rely on its information at your own risk.

Skin prices and listing counts are copied from the Steam Community Market at intervals, so they can be out of date. Prices in currencies other than US dollars are converted at an approximate rate and may differ from what Steam charges. Prices are for information only: they are not an offer to buy or sell, we do not sell or trade skins, and nothing on the Site is financial advice.

Support links take you to Ko-fi, where you can choose to send a donation. Donations are voluntary gifts to support the Site. They do not buy access, features, goods or services, and the Site works the same whether or not you donate.

Donations are handled by Ko-fi and its payment providers (such as Stripe and PayPal) under their own terms; we never see your card or bank details. Because a donation is a gift, it is generally not refundable, but if you sent one by mistake, contact us and we will try to help. This does not affect any rights you have under the law.

When you report a mistake, you confirm that what you send is accurate to the best of your knowledge and is not unlawful, abusive or someone else's private information. You allow us to use it to check and correct the Site. Please do not include personal information in a report.

You agree not to misuse the Site, including by attempting to disrupt or overload it, bypass security or soft access controls, scrape the Site in a way that harms availability, send spam or automated reports, or use the Site for unlawful purposes.

The Site embeds or links to third-party services such as YouTube, the Steam Community Market and Steam Workshop, Ko-fi, and GitHub. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party content or practices, and a link is not an endorsement.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right, remedy or guarantee you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another country with mandatory consumer protection laws, you keep the protection those laws give you. The disclaimers and limits below apply only as far as the law allows.

THE SITE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator of The Rust Guide will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Site or from reliance on any information provided on the Site.

Where our liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, it is limited, to the extent the law allows, to supplying the information again.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. The courts of Queensland and the federal courts of Australia have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute about the Site or these Terms. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you can also bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live, and its mandatory consumer laws still apply.

If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Site.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
